Position Summary:

Thelen Auto Group is seeking an experienced and dependable Property Maintenance Specialist to oversee and perform a wide range of maintenance tasks across the dealership property. This hands-on role is critical in ensuring that all facilities, systems, and grounds are safe, functional, and well-maintained. The ideal candidate has a strong background in general maintenance, excellent problem-solving skills, and a commitment to safety and customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

General Maintenance

  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, inspections, and repairs on dealership property, including building systems, fixtures, and equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose issues related to plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and structural systems.
  • Execute both minor and major repairs to maintain safety and functionality.

Facility Repairs

  • Maintain the physical structure of the dealership including walls, ceilings, floors, doors, and windows.
  • Perform drywall repair, painting, and carpentry work as needed.
  • Ensure the dealership exterior, including parking lots and signage, is clean, safe, and in good condition.

Equipment and Tools

  • Maintain, inspect, and organize tools and equipment.
  • Order and manage inventory of supplies, materials, and replacement parts.
  • Ensure all equipment is in good working order and used according to safety standards.

Plumbing and Electrical

  • Address plumbing issues such as leaks, clogs, and fixture replacements.
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems including outlets, switches, and lighting.
  • Ensure all repairs comply with safety codes and local regulations.

HVAC Maintenance

  • Perform basic HVAC maintenance, including filter changes and system monitoring.
  • Report more advanced HVAC issues for professional servicing.

Safety and Compliance

  • Adhere to all workplace safety protocols and building codes.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections and address any hazards immediately.
  • Maintain accurate records of inspections and maintenance tasks for compliance and reporting.

Groundskeeping and Outdoor Maintenance

  • Maintain landscaping, parking areas, walkways, and dealership grounds.
  • Handle snow removal, salting, and ice control during winter months.
  • Repair and maintain outdoor signage, fences, and gates.

Customer Service

  • Communicate effectively and professionally with staff, vendors, and customers.
  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergencies with a customer-first attitude.

Documentation

  • Keep detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs, parts used, and related expenses.
  • Generate reports as required by dealership management.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Proven experience in property maintenance, facilities management, or related trade.
  • Strong knowledge of building systems and automotive facility requirements.
  • Proficient with hand and power tools.
  • Familiarity with safety regulations and building codes.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy objects and perform manual labor as needed.

Certifications (Preferred but Not Required)

  • Trade certifications or licenses in plumbing, electrical, or HVAC.
